HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 2 Pottsville at No. 1 Pulaski Academy

Pottsville returns to the quarterfinals for the second straight year, while Pulaski Academy advances for the ninth straight season. Undefeated Pulaski Academy outscores opponents by an average of 49-21. Pulaski Academy senior quarterback Fredi Knighten has passed for 3,628 yards and 54 touchdowns this fall. Senior receiver Ben Fortson caught three passes for 101 yards and two scores in last week's 57-18 win over Osceola, while junior tight end Hunter Henry snagged a pair of TDs. Sophomore linebacker Tyler Colquitt paces Pulaski Academy with more than 100 tackles, while safeties Aum'Arie Wallace and Jeremy Brady form one of the better tandems in the state. "They'll come after you and put a lot of pressure on your offense," Pottsville coach Bryan Rust said.

Unbeaten Pottsville has 10 straight games since tying Atkins 21-21 in the opener. Running a Dead T scheme behind senior tackles Charles McDermott (6-2, 260) and Jeremy Ward (6-3, 280), the Apaches outscore opponents 44-15. Sophomore QB Michael Perry has rushed for more than 1,500 yards and passed for almost 600 yards this fall, while junior halfback Quwillen Porter has rushed for more than 1,100 yards and 33 TDs. Junior fullback Corey Campbell's emergence helps spring Pottsville's option attack. Pottsville junior Tyler Weaver ran 24 yards for a TD and caught a 45-yard TD passing last week's 33-point win over Clinton. Weaver has swiped 16 career interceptions. Senior Justin Keene paces Pottsville with 130 tackles, but senior tackle Chris Freeman tore his ACL last week and won't play again.

"Pottsville is completely different, yet a lot like us," Pulaski Academy coach Kevin Kelley said. "They are explosive and can score from anywhere on the field, but they do it with their running game. We are willing to do different things at the point of attack to try get the ball back."
