No. 1 Prescott at No. 3 Earle
Two undefeated teams meet in the quarterfinals for the first time since 2006 when Shiloh Christian beat Bauxite 35-21. Prescott defeated Jessieville 56-16 last week to advance past the second round for the fourth time in five seasons. The Curley Wolves have beaten two Top 10 teams in Class 3A this fall (No. 5 Fountain Lake and No. 8 Glen Rose) and knocked off Class 4A quarterfinalist Nashville 28-21 in Week 2. Senior quarterback Jesse Glass has completed 140 of 214 passes (65 percent) for 2,471 yards and 24 touchdowns. Senior running back and Farm Bureau Awards watch list player Daniel McCoy has 203 carries for 1,932 yards (9.5 yards per carry) and 34 TDs. Junior playmaker Brandon Marks (1,033 total yards, 11 TDs) gains 16.7 yards per play. Senior linebacker Tony Hayes leads Prescott with 100 tackles and five forced fumbles.
Earle beat Smackover 48-8 last week to reach the quarterfinals for the first time as a Class 3A program. The Bulldogs scored 32 unanswered points in the second half and out-gained Smackover 324-135. Junior RB Autry Allen ran 16 times for 160 yards and two scores. Senior fullback/defensive tackle and Farm Bureau Awards watch list player Alrico Knighten collected 12 tackles and returned a fumble 30 yards for a TD. Allen has 194 carries for 2,535 yards (13.1 ypc) and 34 TDs this fall, while Knighten has rushed for more than 1,800 yards and 28 scores. Senior QB Dalvin Kimble has passed for more than 1,100 yards and 14 TDs. "It's going to be a very fast football game," Prescott coach Greg Smith says. "Earle's a good team and they have the respect of a lot of folks around the state."

Barton at ARKANSAS BAPTIST (13): Barton has beaten Paris and West Fork by a combined 51-8 over the past two weeks. Sophomore QB Laquarius Hall ran for 162 yards and three TDs in last week's 23-0 win at West Fork. The Bears out-gained West Fork 341-69. Arkansas Baptist forced six turnovers in a 26-6 win at Camden Harmony Grove. Freshman QB Riley Perkins completed 14 of 24 passes for 292 yards and two TDs. Perkins (7-0 as a starter) has passed for 1,531 yards and 18 scores in eight games this season. The Eagles beat Barton 33-0 in Week 4.
BOTTOM HALF OF THE BRACKET
HARDING ACADEMY (4) at Charleston: Harding Academy has won 31 of its past 33 games against Class 3A competition, losing to eventual state champions Fountain Lake and Rivercrest in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Junior QB Will Francis has completed 261 of 393 passes (66 percent) for 3,355 yards and 37 TDs this fall. Senior playmaker Jay Bona has scored three TDs (averaging 7.6 yards per play) over the past two weeks after recovering from a broken leg. Charleston beat Fordyce 21-0 last week, despite a sluggish performance after the first-round bye. "We were on a roll the last part of the season but that set us back a little bit on our timing and execution," coach Doug Loughridge says. Senior QB Dustin Shelby has generated 2,676 yards (1,899 passing, 777 rushing) and 32 TDs this year. Senior slotback/defensive back Seth McCann gains 10.2 yards per play and has recorded 57 tackles and nine interceptions.
FOUNTAIN LAKE (1) at Rison: Fountain Lake defeated Yellville-Summit 37-7 last week, holding the Panthers to eight total yards in the first half. Three Cobras have recorded four interceptions this year, including senior safety Dale Smith (82 tackles). Senior QB Michael Pope has passed for 2,052 yards and 25 TDs this fall. Rison took advantage of five Glen Rose turnovers and scored twice in the fourth quarter during last week's 24-21 win over the Beavers. The Wildcats have not reached the semifinals since 2004 when it won the Class AA state title.
