CHAMPIONSHIP GAME RECAP
Searcy forced three Benton turnovers last Saturday night in a 28-27 win at War Memorial Stadium to win the Class 6A state championship. It's the school's first state title of the modern playoff era (started in 1970), and the second in school history (1933). Senior quarterback Bryce Dixon earned title game MVP honors, passing for 341 yards and two touchdowns. Senior Damien Young ran for 75 yards and two scores and junior Marlon Crockett collected six passes for 141 yards and a TD. Benton lost its second consecutive title game after rallying from an 0-3 non-conference run.
