STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
No. 1 Warren vs. No. 2 Booneville
This is a rematch of the 2001 state title game which Warren won 45-39, the first of the Lumberjack's conseuctive state titles. The Lumberjacks lost to Nashville in overtime in the 2006 title game. Top-ranked Warren advances to this year's championship after rallying past Valley View 27-20 last week. Lumberjack senior quarterback Drake Jones ran in four touchdowns against Valley View, and he's rushed for 17 scores this fall. Jones has passed for more than 2,300 yards and 26 TDs this year. "Drake carried us last week," Warren coach Bo Hembree says. "He put us on his back and willed us to a win." Junior running back Kilay Cox has ran for more than 600 yards and five TDs. Senior linebacker Kendrick Newton has 104 tackles, while sophomore linebacker D'Angelo McCoy has 115 stops.

Booneville hasn't played for a state title since the Warren loss. The Bearcats are 14-0 for the first time in school history after beating previously unbeaten Dollarway 43-14 last week. Senior quarterback Cody Harrel ran for 164 yards and three TDs last week. He's ran for 1,203 yards and and 15 scores this year. Junior fullback Bryson May has 1,277 yards and 25 TDs this season, including a 103-yard effort against Dollarway. "They run the ball better than anyone we've faced," Hembree says.

Junior noseguard Justin Shackleford, senior defensive tackle Dalton Gray and senior middle linebacker Damon May pace Booneville's defense, which shutout Dollarway in the first half. "Warren is big, athletic and fast," Booneville coach Scott Hyatt says. "It's the same thing for us to win as always. We've got to control the ball and keep it out of their hands. We'll use our offense to eat up the clock."
