STATE CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
Harding Academy rallied from a one-point halftime deficit for a 51-26 win over Osceola last Saturday night in the Class 3A state championship game. It's the seventh state title in Harding Academy history, the third in eight years and first since 2015. Junior receiver Ty Dugger earned title game MVP honors after catching 10 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns and returning an interception 63 yards for another score. Junior quarterback Caden Sipe completed 20 of 37 passes for 364 yards and three TDs, while standout running back Stone Sheffield ran for 162 yards and a pair of scores. Harding amassed 522 yards of offense. Harding won just two games by 13 points or less this season, the closest victory a one-point Week 3 win at Class 4A Heber Springs. Osceola played for the state title for the second year in a row and the Seminoles have won the most games in Class 3A the past three years under Coach Robert Hooks.
