STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME RECAP
Joe T. Robinson junior quarterback Buddy Gaston passed for 274 yards and six touchdowns, including three to senior P.J. Hall in a dominating 56-28 triumph over Shiloh Christian. Gaston hit Hall with a 30-yard TD in the first quarter, then found senior Martel Nunally and junior Hunter Smith with TDs in the final three minutes of the first half, lifting the Senators to a 21-14 cushion at intermission. Hall, the title game MVP, finished with nine catches for 85 yards, made five tackles and broke up three passes. Senior linebackers Chandler McIntosh and J.T. Towers combined for 27 tackles and the Senator defense forced five turnovers.
Shiloh Christian senior QB Eli Reece completed 27 of 44 passes for 286 yards and two TDs. Senior receiver Truitt Tollett's tied the state single-season record with his 30th TD catch (a 33-yarder with 2:28 left). Tollett grabbed 17 passes for 178 yards in the title game.
