FAYETTEVILLE — Tate Barnard returned an interception for a touchdown with 5:26 remaining as Shiloh Christian pulled away from Fayetteville 45-21 Friday at Harmon Field. The Saints improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the 7A-West.

Fayetteville scored 14 unanswered points to trim a 35-7 deficit to 35-21 entering the fourth quarter. The Purple Dogs had a chance to keep the pressure on, but a false start before a fourth-and-short attempt forced a punt on their opening possession of the period. Shiloh answered with a field goal before Barnard intercepted a pass and cut across the field on his way to the end zone.

Cole Creighton completed 17 of 27 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns and added 64 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, according to the broadcast’s postgame statistics. Charlie Kroell rushed 24 times for 146 yards, while Landon Sabatini caught four passes for 102 yards and a touchdown.

Sophomore Trey Fulsom caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Creighton in the first half, helping Shiloh take a 21-7 lead. Cohen Beach added seven catches for 56 yards, and Barnard had two receptions for 52 yards.

The Saints forced eight punts and intercepted three passes, according to the broadcast. Beckham Floyd and Colton Miller also had interceptions, with Miller ending Fayetteville’s final possession with two minutes remaining.
