CABOT — Cannon Moore scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns, including the winning reception with 2:08 remaining, as Cabot erased a 14-point deficit to defeat Pulaski Academy 35-28 Friday night at Panther Stadium.

Moore caught Tyce Fletcher’s pass from the PA 19 and carried it into the end zone to finish a drive that began at Cabot’s 21. The Panthers then stopped the Bruins on fourth-and-seven and intercepted a final desperation pass to secure the victory.

Cabot trailed 28-14 entering the fourth quarter. Moore’s first touchdown of the period, followed by a successful extra point, cut the deficit to seven with 9:43 remaining. PA fumbled the snap on its next offensive play, and Cabot recovered at the Bruins’ 22. Moore took the next snap in the Panthers’ heavy package, ran into traffic, changed direction and scored. The extra point tied it 28-28 with 9:31 left, completing a two-touchdown swing in 12 seconds.

PA still had an opportunity to regain the lead, but its next possession ended on downs with 6:05 remaining. Fletcher kept the eventual winning drive alive through a holding penalty and a later fumbled exchange that Cabot recovered. On third-and-17, he escaped pressure and completed a pass to the PA 20. Two plays later, he found Moore for the decisive score.

The Bruins had built their second-half lead through Patrick Landreaux and Chase Hancock. Landreaux broke through contact for a short touchdown run with 3:12 left in the third quarter, putting PA ahead 21-14. Hancock then kept the ball out of the backfield, turned up the left sideline and outran the pursuit for another touchdown with 21 seconds remaining in the period.

PA also scored first. Raheem Jackson recovered a fumble near midfield and returned it for a first-quarter touchdown, though the extra point was blocked. Fletcher answered with two second-quarter touchdown runs. The first came with 10:41 left in the half; the second, with 7:23 remaining, gave Cabot a 14-6 lead.

Facing fourth-and-three near the goal line late in the half, PA flipped the ball to Hancock, who followed an open lane into the end zone. Landreaux completed the two-point conversion pass to tie it 14-14 with 16 seconds left.

Hancock’s two touchdowns and Landreaux’s third-quarter score put PA in position to win. Moore’s three-touchdown final period changed the result, while Fletcher contributed two rushing touchdowns and the winning scoring pass. Cabot’s defense held PA scoreless throughout the fourth quarter.
