PARIS — Harley Barnhill scored twice and Paris survived Greenland’s fourth-quarter comeback for a 35-33 victory Friday night.

The Eagles rushed for 250 yards on 40 carries and added 58 passing yards, according to statistics supplied to the Paris Eagle Foundation broadcast crew after the game. Athan Wells completed 5 of 8 passes with a touchdown, and Barnhill led Paris with 36 receiving yards.

Paris (3-6, 1-4) defeated Greenland (4-5, 1-4) in the 1-3A matchup. The Eagles travel to West Fork next week.

Greenland trailed 35-20 with 11:03 remaining, but quarterback Kyle Farquharson kept the Pirates in contention through the air. After a Paris punt rolled to the Greenland 11, the Pirates drove for a touchdown pass to Wes Hankins. The two-point pass fell incomplete, preserving Paris’ 35-26 lead.

Brock Barnhill secured the ensuing onside kick, but Paris could not finish the game on that possession. The Eagles punted to Greenland’s 22 with less than four and a half minutes left.

The Pirates extended their next drive with a hook-and-lateral conversion on fourth-and-long. Penalties against Paris and another catch by Hankins helped keep Greenland moving. A touchdown pass and successful extra point narrowed the margin to 35-33 with 1:50 left.

Ty Farmer recovered the next onside kick. Paris forced Greenland to use its final timeout, then drained most of the remaining time before Dalton Farnam punted with 14 seconds left. The Pirates got one final opportunity with seven seconds remaining, but their last pass landed out of bounds as time expired.
