NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Robert Jackson threw two touchdown passes and Christian Reeves added a one-yard scoring run as North Little Rock (8-1, 5-1) shut out Bryant (4-5, 4-2) 21-0 Friday night.
The Charging Wildcats scored in each of the first three quarters and stopped Bryant on fourth down with 4:06 remaining to preserve the shutout. Bryant reached the North Little Rock 37 on its final possession, but Kyler Shelby’s last four passes fell incomplete. Shelby was hit as he released the fourth-down throw.
Reeves helped create the opening score with a punt return that carried North Little Rock deep into Bryant territory. Jackson needed only one play from the 8, faking a handoff before finding Jamir Lee over the middle for a touchdown with 7:05 remaining in the first quarter.
North Little Rock’s defense protected that lead. Johnathan Taylor sacked Shelby during the first quarter, and Carlos Zamora intercepted a pass in the end zone during the second. The interception stopped a Bryant possession that had begun after Malik Shipp picked off a deflected Jackson pass.
The Charging Wildcats struck again late in the half. Jackson rolled left and found Lee for a third-and-two conversion into Bryant territory, then connected with Devin Harris for a 45-yard touchdown pass. The successful extra point made it 14-0 with approximately 35 seconds remaining.
Bryant’s Terriun Jones intercepted two passes in the second half. Quinterious Waller tipped the first before Jones secured it. A penalty on the return reduced the benefit of Jones’ fourth-quarter interception, and Bryant could not turn either takeaway into points.
North Little Rock extended its lead late in the third quarter. Jackson kept the ball on third-and-three and reached the Bryant 1. Reeves took a pitch and powered into the end zone with 2:49 remaining. The extra point completed the scoring.
After its final defensive stop, North Little Rock used a first-down run by Jeremiah Buckner to help exhaust the clock before kneeling out the victory.
