JONESBORO — Valley View opened Homecoming with a first‑quarter avalanche and its defense did the rest in a 27–0 win over Harding Academy on Friday at Central Dealership Stadium. A raucous homecoming crowd approved.

Sophomore Barrett Mallett powered the early surge, scoring on keepers of 1 and 17 yards as the Blazers raced to a 20–0 lead before eight minutes had elapsed. Junior tailback Carter Wallace added explosive balance with a 73‑yard sprint down the right sideline and later a 6‑yard score, both behind a veteran line. Junior quarterback Taylor Hyneman’stiming throw to senior wideout Camarion Davis set up Wallace’s second touchdown. Kicker Troy Dale converted three PATs.

Valley View’s defense authored its second straight shutout. Senior defensive back Rylan Ramsey intercepted two passes, while junior Korey Gammill added a pick. A relentless front anchored by senior middle linebacker Ryder Wooten and junior lineman Eli Thornton produced repeated negative plays, and junior Will Findley broke up multiple throws.

Harding Academy settled after the fast start.
