HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 5 Danville at No. 6 Magazine
Magazine's junior class and its starting quarterback, Ryan Chambers, have lost two times in 4.5 years of football. One of those losses came last year at Danville. Danville whipped Magazine 57-27 in 2009 when four starting Rattlers, including an all-state fullback, missed the game with the flu. All should be healthy this week, including Ryan Chambers (465 yards rushing in 2010) and leading receiver Cory Chambers. Senior fullback John Terry rushed for 135 yards in a come-from-behind 35-27 win over Class 4A Subiaco Academy. Junior Josh Dority (4.6 speed) paces the Magazine defense with 51 tackles, including four sacks.
Danville counters with the Ester brothers, Jaylen and Dadrion (both over 200 rushing yards), junior Sean Tira (270 yards, three TDs) and senior receiver Mike Mims (six receptions for 219 yards). Senior linebackers Dylan Penzo and Joey Essman and senior linemen Trevor McLeron and Trey Bailey spearhead the defense. The Danville starters are hungry, ready to play an entire game after playing just 15 snaps the past two weeks in blowout victories.

WEEK 5 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
3-2A
E. Poinsett County at AUGUSTA (2): This may decide the 3-2A title. EPC jumped all over injury-depleted Cross County last week, scoring 44 points in the first half. Senior RB Bryon Ford ran for 171 yards and two TDs, caught a 20-yard TD pass and returned a punt 44 yards for a TD. EPC's defense, led by A.J. Turner's 13 tackles, held Cross County tailback Blake Veasley to 97 yards on 16 carries.
Marked Tree at MCCRORY (6): Just three weeks ago, McCrory whipped EPC 30-6 to stretch its regular-season winning streak to 14 games. But the Jaguars have lost two in a row, 42-12 at Hazen and 18-0 at Walnut Ridge, since 6-6, 295-pound lineman Jemar Clark was sidelined with shoulder surgery.
WALNUT RIDGE (8) at Salem: Walnut Ridge riding high after shutting out defending 3-2A champion McCrory 18-0 last week.
