Class 4A No. 8 Star City at No. 6 Rison
Star City, loaded with its most talented team in two decades, sputtered in last week's 38-29 loss to Lonoke in the opening night of Simmons First/Hootens.com kickoff week. The 8-4A favorite Bulldogs committed seven turnovers, with Lonoke turning four of them into scores. Senior QB Ty Towers completed 14 passes for 194 yards and ran 11 times for 121 yards and a TD. Rison lost to Star City in a preseason scrimmage. Rison senior RB Raphael Caldwell ran for 175 yards and two TDs in last week's 31-7 win over defending Class 2A champion Junction City. Senior interior linemen Patrick Abeyta and James Cranford (nine tackles and a forced fumble) lead a stingy Wildcat defense.

Green Forest at PEA RIDGE (7): Green Forest loses its fourth straight game, while Pea Ridge recovers from last week's 25-8 loss to Elkins.
MANSFIELD (14) at Greenland: Mansfield senior RB Seth Feimster ran for 175 yards and two TDs in last week's 22-14 win over Waldron. Greenland snapped a six-game losing streak with last week's 26-16 win over Union Christian.
CEDARVILLE (6) at Lincoln: Cedarville dropped its second straight game to Mountainburg last week, 21-14. Lincoln surrendered 40 points in last week's 27-point loss to Westville, Okla.
Melbourne at MARSHALL (6): Melbourne lost to Manila 45-0 last week. Marshall carries an 11-game losing streak into its home opener.
Rose Bud at MOUNTAIN VIEW (1): Rose Bud senior RB Joe Dalrymple ran for two TDs in last week's 39-33 win over Quitman. Mountain View lost to Heber Springs 34-7 last week.
West Fork at FARMINGTON (7): West Fork committed three turnovers and gave up 303 yards in last week's 6-3 loss to Magazine. Farmington senior QB Trey Spencer completed 13 passes for 212 yards and three TDs, while junior RB Jared Martin carried 27 times for 137 yards and two scores in last week's 34-14 win over Huntsville.
YELLVILLE-SUMMIT (6) at Salem: Yellville-Summit sophomore OL/DL Korbin Duffy recovered a fumble that led to a five-yard game-winning TD by sophomore RB Terrence Taylor in last week's 21-20 win over Berryville. Salem junior QB John Turney completed six passes for 113 yards and two TDs and ran for 111 yards and another score in last week's 36-6 win over Jonesboro Westside.

Bigelow at ARKANSAS BAPTIST (14): Bigelow last defeated Arkansas Baptist 26-21 in 2005. The Panther defense must eliminate big plays this week. Arkansas Baptist senior RB/WR Jon Moon carried six times for 43 yards and two TDs and caught two passes for 62 yards and another score in last week's 56-24 win over Conway Christian.
Clarendon at BARTON (6): Clarendon's improved offensive line allowed junior QB Jamarlin Jackson and sophomore RB Jamen Jackson to run for a combined 238 yards and five TDs in last week's 40-14 win over Brinkley. But Barton's even better up front and should pick up right where it left off after last week's 40-13 win over DeWitt.
DES ARC (28) at Brinkley: Des Arc lost to Parkers Chapel 20-14 last week after the Trojans scored with 25 seconds left in the game. Brinkley has lost six of its past seven games dating back to last season.
England at EPISCOPAL (12): England allowed 300 yards rushing in last week's 36-29 loss to Strong. Episcopal senior RB Jarred Anderson ran for more than 230 yards and four TDs in last week's 38-27 loss to Hoxie.
HEBER SPRINGS (3) at Harding Academy: Heber Springs junior WR Markeyvus Mays caught three TDs in last week's 34-6 win over Mountain View. Harding Academy senior QB Seth Keese completed 12 passes for 137 yards and two TDs and ran eight times for 151 yards and two more scores in last week's 28-20 win over Fountain Lake.
Mayflower at GREENBRIER (21): Mayflower allowed 14 unanswered points in the second half in last week's 28-14 loss to Dumas. But Eagles coach Jed Davis says sophomore QB Daniel Gieber and junior RB Taylor Mathis executed the offense well. Greenbrier senior RB Hunter Winston ran 12 times for 205 yards and four TDs in last week's 39-13 win over Beebe.
RIVERVIEW (14) at Southside Batesville: Riverview committed four turnovers in last week's 28-6 loss to Carlisle. Southside Batesville lost to Class 2A Cedar Ridge 38-36 last week.
Rose Bud at MOUNTAIN VIEW (1): Rose Bud senior RB Joe Dalrymple ran for two TDs in last week's 39-33 win over Quitman. Mountain View lost to Heber Springs 34-7 last week.

Bald Knob at NEWPORT (3): Bald Knob forced seven turnovers, including six interceptions, in last week's 48-17 win over Pocahontas. Sophomore QB Cordell Crisp completed 25 passes for 253 yards and three TDs. Newport senior RB Artez Brown averaged 10 yards per carry in last week's 41-14 loss to Batesville before injuring his foot in the second quarter.
Corning at HIGHLAND (31): Corning lost to Walnut Ridge 38-0 last week. Highland sophomore QB Sterling Stowers ran for 120 yards and two TDs and passed for two more scores in last week's 28-0 win over Cave City.
EARLE (2) at Lake Village: Earle sophomore RB Autry Allen ran 12 times for 150 yards and three TDs in last week's 40-6 win over Little Rock Fair. Lake Village senior QB Jacorrious White ran 60, 50 and 48 yards for TDs in last week's 45-0 win over Marvell.
Hughes at HARRISBURG (35): Hughes lost to Harrisburg 44-0 a year ago. Harrisburg senior QB Zach Davis completed 29 passes for 316 yards and two TDs in last week's 24-14 loss to Cross County.
GREENE CO. TECH (21) at Hoxie: Greene Co. Tech led by three points at halftime, but only scored once in the second half in last week's 24-19 loss to Jonesboro. Hoxie junior QB Sebastian Irvin accounted for four TDs as the Mustangs held on to beat Episcopal 38-27 last week.
PALESTINE-WHEATLEY (12) at Manila: Palestine lost to East Poinsett County 26-20 last week after taking the lead early in the fourth quarter. Manila junior QB Dillon Burrow completed nine passes for 168 yards and two TDs in last week's 45-0 win over Melbourne.
Piggott at MALDEN, MO (8).: Piggott senior RB Alec Samples carried nine times for 100 yards in last week's 34-14 win over Marked Tree. Malden looks for its second win of the season in its home-opener.
RIVERCREST (2) at Osceola: Rivercrest senior QB Demoine Brown passed for 142 yards and two TDs and averaged almost 13 yards per carry in last week's 40-6 win over Trumann. Osceola looks for its seventh straight win over the Colts.

Atkins at DOVER (7): An anemic Atkins offense looks to generate more points after scoring once in last week's 27-point loss to Pottsville. Dover beat Atkins 41-16 a year ago.
CEDARVILLE (6) at Lincoln: Cedarville dropped its second straight game to Mountainburg last week, 21-14. Lincoln surrendered 40 points in last week's 27-point loss to Westville, Okla.
Gentry at CHARLESTON (17): Gentry played Charleston as well as any other Tiger opponent last year, but still lost by two scores. Charleston senior RB Ryan McDonald carried 24 times for 170 yards and three TDs, while the Tiger defense allowed 26 yards rushing in last week's 41-27 win over Clarksville.
LAVACA (7) at Elkins: Lavaca has lost three of its past four games dating back to last season. Elkins beat Class 4A Pea Ridge 25-8 last week in a mild upset.
Lamar at POTTSVILLE (10): Lamar beat Pottsville 19-14 a year ago, but the Warriors are suffering after last week's 42-14 loss to Subiaco Academy. Pottsville freshman QB Michael Perry ran five yards for the Apaches' first TD of 2010 in last week's 34-7 win over Atkins.
MANSFIELD (14) at Greenland: Mansfield senior RB Seth Feimster ran for 175 yards and two TDs in last week's 22-14 win over Waldron. Greenland snapped a six-game losing streak with last week's 26-16 win over Union Christian.
Waldron at PARIS (7): Waldron lost to Mansfield 22-14 last week. Paris junior RB Mason Koenigseder ran 10 times for 125 yards and a TD in last week's 48-6 win over Green Forest.
CLINTON (18) at Perryville: Clinton flogged Marshall 57-18 last week. Perryville senior FB Keegan Belk ran 65 yards for a TD, while senior RB/WR Raymond Johnson hauled in an 87-yard TD pass in last week's 28-27 win over Bigelow.

B. Harmony Grove at GURDON (8): Harmony Grove senior QB Tyler Smart ran for three TDs in last week's 35-14 win over Poyen. Gurdon manages to notch just its fourth win since 2007.
BISMARCK (8) at Horatio: Bismarck committed five turnovers in last week's 27-7 win over Murfreesboro. Horatio junior RB/K Eliut Salazar caught a 20-yard TD pass and kicked three extra points in last week's 21-18 win over Woodlawn.
Centerpoint at MENA (25): Centerpoint leaves Polk County with an 11-game losing streak. Mena beat DeQueen 30-7 last week.
Cutter M. Star at TWO RIVERS (1): Cutter edged Western Yell County 20-18 last week. The Eagles beat Two Rivers 18-7 a year ago.
Fountain Lake at BOONEVILLE (8): Fountain Lake struggled to score when needed in last week's 28-20 loss to Harding Academy. The Cobras tacked on 14 points in the final four minutes against the Wildcats. Booneville senior RB Talor Tatterson carried nine times for 192 yards and three TDs in last week's 42-21 win over Ozark.
HOT SPRINGS (3) at Glen Rose: Hot Springs senior RB Chris Hughes averaged almost eight yards per carry in last week's 42-21 loss to Pulaski Robinson. Glen Rose senior RB Steven Kehner ran for 288 yards and three TDs in last week's 54-28 win over Bauxite.
Mount Ida at JESSIEVILLE (6): Mount Ida surrendered 20 unanswered points in last week's 20-7 loss to Magnet Cove. Jessieville beat Mountain Pine 35-8 last week.
Prescott at NASHVILLE (21): Prescott senior special teams-guru Ke'Andrae Ballance returned a punt 45 yards for a TD in last week's 34-7 win over Gurdon. Nashville beat Class 5A Hope 45-9 last week as five different players scored for the Scrappers.

Hampton at C. HARMONY GROVE (25): Hampton lost to Fordyce JV 33-27 last week. Harmony Grove junior RB Dalton McKelvin rushed for more than 200 yards and two TDs in last week's 34-14 win over Bearden.
Jonesboro Westside at DREW CENTRAL (6): Jonesboro Westside allowed 290 yards rushing in last week's 36-6 loss to Salem. Drew Central starts 2-0 for the first time in school history.
Fordyce at DUMAS (4): Fordyce lost in the final minutes to 8-4A power Warren last week. After converting a 4th-and-23, the Lumberjacks scored to pull within one, then added two points for a 27-26 victory. Dumas looks for its fourth straight win over Fordyce.
Fouke at SPRING HILL (35): Fouke lost to Mineral Springs 40-13 last week. Spring Hill senior RB Rodrea Jones ran for 170 yards and three TDs and threw a TD pass in last week's 42-8 win over Lafayette County.
Genoa Central at MAUD, TEX. (14): Genoa Central lost to Foreman (3-25 since 2007) 28-20 last week. Maud wins its first game of the season.
Mineral Springs at LAFAYETTE COUNTY (6): Mineral Springs lost by four points to Lafayette County a year ago. Lafayette County gave up more than 300 yards rushing in last week's 42-8 loss to Spring Hill.

Smackover at DIERKS (2): Smackover lost to Norphlet 31-13 last week. Dierks scored 34 points against Centerpoint last week, its highest output since the first round of the 2008 playoffs.
