HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 2 Pine Bluff at No. 3 Lake Hamilton
Lake Hamilton's youth gets tested against senior-laden Pine Bluff. This game has been decided by eight points or less four of the past five meetings. Pine Bluff beat the Wolves 50-42 in last year's semifinals after Lake Hamilton won by four points in the regular season. Lake Hamilton has not beaten the Zebras at home since 2007.
Pine Bluff senior running back Jawahn Hunt has rushed for more than 700 yards and 11 touchdowns this fall. But coach Bobby Bolding is most impressed with Hunt's play without the ball. "He does a great job blocking and is playing well in every phase of the game." The Zebras feature a deep defensive line, rotating nine up front.
Lake Hamilton junior quarterback Levi Runyan has completed 60 of 101 passes for 1,023 yards and 10 TDs. Junior RB Austin Essner carried 17 times for 154 yards in last week's 48-14 win over Benton in place of senior Tyler Walker, who is out six weeks with a broken leg. The Wolves are limping on defense with junior linebackers Tyler Lindsey and Trent Curry nursing knee injuries.
