No. 1 South Panola, Miss. at No. 1 North Little Rock.
Batesville, Mississippi powerhouse South Panola totaled just 28 yards in the first half and lost at Bentonville 41-6 Week 3 last season. But coach Lance Pogue's Tigers went on to win the Mississippi big school state championship and currently rides a 13-game winning streak. The Tigers have won 10 state titles in school history, including eight in the past 10 years with five undefeated seasons in the past nine years. South Panola won 74 consecutive games from 2004 to 2008, the fifth longest high school win streak in history. This year's Tigers, ranked No. 1 in Mississippi, won the past two weeks by a combined 89-47.
North LR junior receiver K.J. Hill (4.5 speed), a transfer from Bryant, joins running back Juan Day with a scholarship offer from the Arkansas Razorbacks. Hill got his offer after last Friday's 55-13 win over Lake Hamilton. Hill caught two TD passes returned a kick 99 yards for a score. Day carried 12 times for 149 yards.

HOOTEN'S TV SHOW
Hooten's Arkansas Football TV show airs 10::30 a.m. Saturdays this fall on KATV 7 (ABC-Little Rock) and KXNW (Ch. 34 Fort Smith/Fayetteville). The show features the state's top recruiting prospects. Pine Bluff will be featured as the Verizon/Nokia Siemens Network Football Town of the Week.

WEEK 2 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
7A/6A CENTRAL
CONWAY (9) at Jonesboro. Class 6A Jonesboro led early before this matchup was cancelled due to inclement weather last September. The Hurricane faces one of the better Conway teams (35 seniors, 34 juniors) in several years. Jonesboro gutted Class 5A Greene County Tech 56-15 last week.
FS SOUTHSIDE (8) at El Dorado. El Dorado totaled 292 yards and allowed more than 450 yards in last week's 37-24 loss at Class 5A No. 1 Camden Fairview. FS Southside won this match-up 38-21 last year.
Rogers Heritage at FS NORTHSIDE (3): Heritage led at halftime and finished with six more first downs in its 45-28 loss last week at No. 4 FS Southside. Northside is much improved under new coach Mike Falleur. Northside fell behind 14-0 early last week, blew several opportunities, including a dropped TD pass just before halftime, and allowed a 37-yard field goal in the final seconds of a 31-31 tie at Class 6A No. 1 Pine Bluff. Heritage quarterback Josh Qualls passed for five TDs in a 43-25 win over Northside in 2012.
CABOT (10) at LR Catholic: Cabot creamed neighbor Jacksonville 42-0 last week in the final "Backyard Brawl." Jacksonville last won in the series in 2005. LR Catholic began the Coach John Fogleman era last Thursday with a 38-14 loss to LR Central. Catholic running back D.J. Brown accounted for 60 percent of the Rocket offense with 126 total yards (102 receiving) last week. Fogleman, a Little Rock Hall alum, guided Malvern to the Class 4A title game in 2011. Cabot beat Catholic 28-7 last year.

7A/6A EAST
South Panola, Miss at NORTH LR (7): Game of the Week.
CABOT (10) at LR Catholic: Cabot creamed neighbor Jacksonville 42-0 in the final "Backyard Brawl" last week. The series has been lopsided with Cabot winning every year since 2005. LR Catholic began the Coach John Fogleman era with a 38-14 loss to LR Central. Catholic running back D.J. MEMPHIS CHRISTIAN BROTHERS (7) at West Memphis: West Memphis allowed close to 300 yards on special teams in last week's 49-46 loss to Class 4A Ashdown. The Memphis Christian Brothers Purple Wave lost to Southaven, Tenn., 45-42 last Friday after beating Germantown, Tenn., 21-7 a week earlier.

7A/6A SOUTH
BRYANT (1) at LR Central: Bryant fumbled on the Conway 8-yard line and into the end zone in last week's 24-7 loss at Conway. Central rocked LR Catholic 38-14 Week 1. Bryant bombed Central 28-7 a year ago.

7A/6A WEST
Broken Arrow, Okla. at BENTONVILLE (7): Bentonville rallied from 13-0 deficit to win at Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst 24-21 last Friday. The Tigers tallied almost 260 yards rushing and 110 yards passing. Bentonville has won 24 straight non-conference games and 36 consecutive regular-season contest. Bentonville doubled Broken Arrow last year 20-10 after a lengthy lightning delay.
JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (1) at Fayetteville: Two-time defending 7A champion Fayetteville enjoys 11 days between its opener (35-21 win over Class 4A No. 1 Warren last Monday) and Jeff City (2-0). The Purple Dogs lost last year at Jeff City 49-39.
Van Buren at POTEAU, OKLA. (1): Poteau outscored Durant 43-42 last Friday while Van Buren lost at Class 5A Alma 35-27. Poteau outlasted the Pointers 18-15 a year ago.
Columbia (Mo.)
 Rock Bridge at SPRINGDALE HAR-BER (9): Har-Ber rallied from a 35-14 third-quarter deficit, racking up 657 yards offense to beat Webb City, Mo., 42-35 last Friday. Webb City was riding a 46-game win streak and hadn't lost a regular-season game since Oct. 17, 2003. Har-Ber committed six turnovers in last year's 28-16 loss at Columbia (Mo.) Rockhurst.

ROGERS (6) at Tahlequah, Okla.: Rogers rolled up 503 yards rushing last week while holding Class 6A Mountain Home to 82 yards on 30 carries (2.7 yards per carry). It was Rogers' first shutout victory since blanking Kansas City Central 42-0 on Sept. 11, 2009. Rogers rumbled for 366 yards rushing in last season's 45-13 win over Tahlequah.
SPRINGDALE (16) at Tulsa Central, Okla.: Springdale ran over Batesville, the Class 5A state runner-up the past two seasons, 42-27 last Friday. Senior DeAndre Murray ran for 195 yards and three TDs with a 53-yard TD called back by penalty. Murray ran for 136 yards and two TDs in a 41-0 win over Tulsa Central last season.
