No. 10 Ozark (2-0) at Class 3A No. 3 CHARLESTON (1-0)

Charleston has won 14 of the past 21 Franklin County Feuds, but Ozark has won the past 2, including last year by 1 point. Ozark beat Booneville 34-27 a week ago, with the key moment coming with 1 second left in the first half when Ozark got a 77-yard touchdown run from sophomore John Skolarski, who finished with 192 rushing yards. He also threw a 35-yard TD pass, caught 2 passes for 40 yards and on defense knocked down Booneville’s pass on the final play to seal the game. Junior Easton Fox ran for 113 yards and 2 TDs, while QB Cade Capp completed all 3 of his passes and ran for 1 TD.

Charleston beat Pottsville by 35 points last week. Charleston senior QB Carter Little completed 22 of 31 passes for 304 yards and 3 TDs. Matteo Gaona led the Tigers defense with 2 interceptions, returning 1 for a TD.

“We have to play more disciplined (115 penalty yards),” Ozark Coach Josh Watson says. “Charleston does a great job of finding holes in your defense.”

Class 5A FARMINGTON (1-1) at Prairie Grove (0-1): These rivals have split the past 24 meetings, with Farmington notching a 28-8 win last fall. Prairie Grove Coach Danny Abshier was an assistant for current Farmington Coach Tommy Tice at Harrison in the 1990s. Farmington jumped on Class 7A Har-Ber 14-0 last week before senior QB Ayden Lester injured his knee. Lester threw an 80-yard TD pass and ran 16 yards for a TD before his injury. Prairie Grove, which has had 3 defensive coordinators in the past year, gave up 42 points in last week’s 22-point loss to Tahlequah (Okla.) Sequoyah.

GRAVETTE (2-0) at Durant, Okla. (0-2): Durant has lost games this fall to Ada, Okla., and Broken Bow, Okla., by a combined 57-37. Gravette beat Jay, Okla., 34-6 last week. Junior RB Joseph Beem dominated on the ground (17-136-3 TDs).

GENTRY (2-0) at Class 3A Hackett (1-0): Gentry senior QB Talan Williams threw the winning TD pass to Owen Foreman to help Gentry beat Pea Ridge last week 7-3. Gentry’s defense recorded 5 sacks, including 2 by Atreyu Banks. Philip Thompson made 16 tackles and forced 1 fumble. C.J. Bolinger recorded 1 interception, 1 fumble recovery and broke up 2 passes.

Class 3A West Fork (0-1) at LINCOLN (1-1): West Fork has won 9 of the past 12 over Lincoln, but Lincoln won 46-18 a year ago. Both teams are coming off losses last week: West Fork 28-6 vs. Green Forest, and Lincoln lost 30-26 at Westville, Okla.

BERRYVILLE (1-0) at Class 3A Greenland (0-1): Greenland has won 6 of the past 7 over Berryville, including 47-21 last season. But Berryville looked good last week, beating Mountain View 40-28 and piling up 678 offensive yards. Junior QB C.T. Hicks passed for 131 yards and ran 21 times for 200 yards and 5 TDs. Junior RBs Jason Alvarado (19-153) and John Butler (2-64-1) played a vital role.

Huntsville (0-1) at CLINTON (2-0): Huntsville lost 35-7 to Lamar 2 weeks ago; Clinton has beaten HG Haskell and Heber Springs the past 2 weeks by a combined 72-31. The Yellow Jackets gave up 123 yards rushing against Heber Springs, and were led by Briar Gadberry‘s 8.5 tackles and 1 interception. Senior QB Brodie Dufrene passed for 113 yards and 2 TDs; Rylan Jones (22-115 rushing, TD) led the Yellow Jackets, who produced 380 yards.

Class 5A WYNNE (1-1) at Lonoke (0-2): Wynne beat rival Forrest City 29-26 last week. Braydon Smith ran for 110 yards and 2 TDs, while Christian Wren had 86 yards and 2 TDs. MJ Hodges, James Archer, West Fuller and John Mills earned solid blocking grades on the offensive line, Coach Clay Totty says. Lonoke lost to Jacksonville by 1 point last week and by 4 points in the opener at Stuttgart. QB Dylan Dean passed for 354 yards and 3 TDs vs. Jacksonville, with junior D’Mareon Eason catching 7 passes for 214 yards and 3 TDs. Jonathan Hixon led the defense with 14 tackles; Graham Stuart had 12 tackles, 1 sack and a blocked field goal.

Central Arkansas Christian (0-2) at Class 5A HARDING ACADEMY (0-1): Harding Academy trailed Class 6A Marion 44-0 in the second quarter last week before losing 51-7. Kam Riley scored Harding Academy’s only TD. CAC led Stuttgart 14-7 in the second quarter last week before losing 48-14. Eli Cash set a school record with a 99-yard TD run.

HIGHLAND (1-1) at Riverview (0-1): This game was canceled last fall. Riverview has won 4 of the past 6 meetings vs. Highland over the past 9 years. Class 2A McCrory shut out Riverview 56-0 last week, while Highland beat Class 5A Brookland 26-20. Jaxon Tribble led Highland’s rushing with 19 carries, 149 yards and 2 TDs. Lexxon Johnson (9 tackles, 1 fumble recovery for a TD) paced the defense.

Bald Knob (1-1) at Class 2A DES ARC (1-0): The teams have split the past 6 meetings, with Des Arc winning 34-12 last season. Melbourne beat Bald Knob 40-6 last week; Des Arc dominated Hazen 55-3.

Hall Steam (0-2) at Class 3A LAKE VILLAGE (0-2): Lake Village lost 2 weeks ago to Class 2A Carlisle 27-6, while Hall Steam has lost its 2 games this season to Dardanelle and Mena by a combined 118-0.

SOUTHSIDE (2-0) at Class 5A Batesville (0-2): Southside has won all 3 of its meetings over Batesville, with the past 2 by a combined 72-17. The Southerners hammered Harrisburg 49-6 a week ago. QB Trey Allen tallied 190 yards, while RB Owen McLaughlin, a former Batesville player, ran for 84 yards. Batesville QB Cole Bentz passed for 169 yards and a TD, and ran for 2 TDs in last week’s 39-20 loss to Newport.

POCAHONTAS (1-1) at Class 5A Brookland (0-1): Brookland faces a second 3-4A member after losing to Highland 26-20 last week. Senior RB Gabe Carter ran for 128 yards and 1 TD, while senior LB Easton Cunningham made 6 tackles. Pocahontas faces its second consecutive 5A East opponent after beating Greene County Tech 34-21 last week. QB Spencer James passed for 110 yards and 2 TDs, and ran for 91 yards. Junior RB Xavier Ballard ran for 238 yards and 3 TDs. Ryder Baltz led Pocahontas’ defense with 13 tackles, and senior C/DL Carter Couch dominated on both sides.

GOSNELL (2-0) at Class 3A Osceola (0-2): Osceola has won 11 of the past 21 meetings over neighboring Gosnell, including last fall 31-12 (Gosnell won by 22 points in 2023). Gosnell beat Rivercrest 40-30 last week, behind senior Jai Jacobs’ 97-yard interception return for a TD. Osceola has lost to 4A opponents Mills and Blytheville.

TRUMANN (0-2) at Class 3A Harrisburg (0-2): Trumann has beaten its former conference foe 11 of the past 14 meetings, but the Wildcats are winless this fall, losing to Nettleton and Walnut Ridge by a combined 69-20. They trailed Walnut Ridge 35-0 in the second quarter a week ago. But 2 key players are expected to return this week, bolstering the Trumann past Harrisburg.

Class 5A Nettleton (1-1) at BLYTHEVILLE (1-0): Nettleton has won 11 of the past 21 in the series, including last fall 26-20. But the Raiders lost to Beebe 32-14 a week ago when several key players were suspended due to a brawl vs. Trumann in Week 0. Paul Sisk returned a kickoff 78 yards for a TD and Desmond Copeland intercepted 2 passes. Blytheville opened its season last week with a 20-19 win over Osceola. Senior Courtney Rogers ran for 235 yards and 2 TDs and threw a 38-yard TD pass.

Class 3A PALESTINE-WHEATLEY (2-0) at Jonesboro Westside (0-1): These teams have never played. Jonesboro Westside dropped Class 5A Brookland to pick up this matchup. The Warriors lost at Hoxie 20-0 a week ago, struggling to find offensive consistency. Palestine-Wheatley QB Brody Parker threw a 15-yard TD pass on fourth down in the fourth quarter last week to lift the Patriots 14-12 over Cross County. Palestine-Wheatley’s defense forced 3 turnovers. Adron Cooper scored the other TD with an 80-yard kickoff return.

Nashville (1-1) at DARDANELLE (2-0): Dardanelle is coming off a hard-fought win last week over Elkins. Senior QB Creed Vega was a workhorse (ran for 132 yards, passed for 177 yards and 1 TD, and collected 9 tackles on defense). Senior WR/DB Bo Miller (5-62 receiving, 6 tackles on defense) and WR/DB Rod Chaten (3-101-1 TD receiving; 4 tackles) were the top targets, while Ian Branson averaged 8 yards per carry at RB and made 11 tackles. Breydin Hardy led Dardanelle’s defense with 12 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 interception. Nashville’s Tucker Dixon ran for 3 TDs and Jacoby Hopson ran for 2 TDs and passed for another to power the Scrappers past Hope last week, 47-20.

MENA (2-0) at Stigler, Okla. (0-1): Stigler, Okla., lost to Sallisaw 27-0 last week. Mena has shut out Hall and De Queen, winning by a combined 81-0. Seven different Bearcats scored TDs in last week’s 53-0 win at Hall. The defense gave up 50 yards, with Jimmy Glenn collecting 4 tackles for loss.

Lamar (1-0) at Class 3A MANSFIELD (2-0): Lamar has won 10 of the past 14 over its former conference foe. The Warriors were off last week after beating Huntsville 35-7 in the opener. Senior QB Eli Jones passed for 108 yards and 2 TDs, and rushed for 54 yards vs. Huntsville; Kaz Crotts rushed 5 times for 101 yards and 2 TDs. Kasen Humphrey led the defense with 2 sacks and 1 interception. “We have to be physical up front and slow down their fullback,” Lamar Coach Josh Jones says. Mansfield beat Bismarck 34-28 in OT in the opener and whipped Waldron 46-6 a week ago.

Class 5A Clarksville (0-1) at POTTSVILLE (1-1): Clarksville was off last week after losing to Ozark 46-14 in the opener 2 weeks ago. The Panthers gained 21 yards in the first half vs. Ozark. Denver Pickartz led the Panthers with 9 carries, 77 yards and 1 TD, and caught 2 passes. Ben Holland led the defense with 4 tackles, including 1 sack. Pottsville must recover from last week’s 42-7 loss at Charleston. Weston Pool paced the Apaches with 5 catches, 101 yards a TD. But the Apaches committed 5 turnovers. “It was rough, we can’t do that and win games,” Coach Bryan Rust says.

Waldron (0-2) at MULDROW, OKLA. (1-0): Muldrow crushed Roland, Okla., last week 62-18. Waldron has scored 6 points this season, and it yielded more than 500 yards to Class 3A Mansfield in a 48-6 setback a week ago.

H.G. Haskell (0-1) at Class 3A No. 7 RISON (1-0) (Thurs.): Rison jumped on H.G. Ouachita County last week 36-19. HG Haskell lost to Clinton 2 weeks ago, despite Jaheim Noble‘s 27 carries, 166 yards and 1 TD.

Nashville (1-1) at DARDANELLE (2-0): See Comment in 4-4A.

Arkadelphia (2-0) at Class 6A LAKE HAMILTON (1-1): Lake Hamilton beat Arkadelphia by 14 points last year, the first meeting between these teams since 1999. Arkadelphia has beaten Camden Fairview and Hot Springs this fall by a total of 7 points. Lake Hamilton beat LR Southwest 42-0 last week. QB Hudson Davenport completed 6 of 9 passes for 110 yards and 2 TDs; Carson Jackson finished with 164 yards receiving and 2 TDs.

STUTTGART (2-0) at Malvern (1-1): Stuttgart rallied from a 14-7 deficit last week to beat CAC 48-14. Junior QB Cain Price threw 2 TD passes each to QT Johnson and Caiden Sims. Price finished with 325 yards and 5 TDs. Knox Hillman led Stuttgart’s defense with 10 tackles. Keaton Byers and Cordero Berry each intercepted passes. Malvern lost the Brick Bowl last week to rival Glen Rose 35-21. Senior Tavien Clegg ran 20 times for 87 yards and 1 TD; senior Kahlen Cooper caught 2 passes for 51 yards and 1 TD. Malvern’s defense forced 5 turnovers.

Bauxite (1-1) at Class 5A MAGNOLIA (1-0): Bauxite beat Monticello 38-36 last week, outscoring the Billies 24-8 in the fourth quarter. Sophomore QB Sam Combs ignited the rally with a 35-yard TD pass, then Taylon Henderson ran for 2 TDs and a 2-point conversion. Bauxite’s expected QB, Elijah Perry, tore his ACL in the scrimmage game 3 weeks ago, but played 8 snaps against Monticello. He had surgery this week and will miss the rest of the season. Magnolia senior QB Walker Carter threw a 56-yard TD pass, and junior Jamaijah Marshall (18-177-1 TD) and senior Ike Ainsworth (11-104-1 TD) powering the rushing attack.

Class 5A Hope (0-1) at ASHDOWN (0-1): Former Hope defensive coordinator Eryc McCaslin led Ashdown to a 12-point win over the Bobcats last fall. Ashdown has won 13 of the past 20 in the series. Ashdown junior Bryson French returned the opening kickoff 89 yards for a TD, then caught a 23-yard TD pass to put Ashdown up 12-0 at Mills last week, before Mills scored the final 43 points. Hope lost at Nashville 47-20.

FOUNTAIN LAKE (1-1) at Class 3A Centerpoint (0-1): Centerpoint’s 14-point win last fall ended an 8-game losing streak in the series. The Knights lost to Class 2A Murfreesboro 50-22 in Week 0. Fountain Lake QB Cooper Buss has 8 TD passes in 2 games this year, including 342 yards and 3 TDs in last week’s 63-28 loss to Smackover. Smackover scored 4 TDs on fourth down. “We couldn’t get off the field,” Fountain Lake Coach Matt Richardson says.

Genoa Central (0-1) at Class 3A FOUKE (2-0): Undefeated Fouke has beaten Class 2A Dierks and Murfreesboro by a combined 85-52. Fouke’s Joshua Scoggins ran for 211 yards and 4 TDs in last week’s 44-38 win over Murfreesboro.

STUTTGART (2-0) at Malvern (1-1): See Comment in 7-4A.

Class 5A Watson Chapel (0-2) at WARREN (1-1): Warren jumped on Class 5A White Hall 28-0 last week before holding on 28-14. Senior RB Aaron Davis ran for 2 TDs, and Jackson Denton threw an 86-yard TD pass to junior Josiah Steen. Steen caught 5 passes for 207 yards, while Denton passed for 329 yards. The Lumberjacks intercepted 3 passes, including 1 that Zechariah Bush returned for a TD. Watson Chapel lost to Crossett last week, 42-22. Sophomore WR Jakilynn Battles (7-113-2 TDs) and junior center/DL Brian Madden (6 pancake blocks, 3 tackles) played well.

Class 3A Dumas (1-0) at HAMBURG (1-0): Hamburg has beaten its former conference foe 14 of the past 24 seasons. Hamburg’s Nikel Lewis ran for 5 TDs in last week’s 49-27 win at McGehee; Keovion Brown and Charles Mooney each caught TD passes. Dumas shut out Star City 39-0 a week ago, running for almost 300 yards.

Class 5A JACKSONVILLE (1-1) at DeWitt (1-0): Jacksonville jumped on Lonoke 17-3 last week and held on for a 25-24 victory. Senior Matthew Goldsberry caught 3 passes for 43 yards and 1 TD, and Mason Ball ran for 176 yards and 2 TDs. OL N’Kyson Patterson and DL Breon Hammond both played well. DeWitt didn’t play last week, and 2 weeks ago beat CAC 38-15. “We have to find a way to establish the run game because they are good at stopping it,” DeWitt Coach Jason Hathcock says.

HELENA (1-1) at Class 3A Drew Central (1-1): Helena lost to Earle 36-12 last week, while Drew Central led England 46-16 in the third quarter when England’s superintendent instructed the coaches to forfeit after the teams fought on the England sideline. Helena LB Keveahn Brown made 7 tackles against Earle. “We gave up too many deep passes, which is frustrating,” Helena Coach Russell Smith says. “We are a way better team than we showed against Earle. We made too many mistakes.”

Class 3A MCGEHEE (0-1) at Star City (0-1): Star City has beaten its former conference rival 9 of the past 14 meetings. But the Bulldogs didn’t score in last week’s 39-0 loss to Dumas. RB Caleb Hampton and senior LB Carter Dean played well, first-year Coach Matt Garriott says. “We played better on defense, despite the score,” the coach says. “

OAK GROVE, La. (1-1) at Crossett (1-1): Oak Grove beat West Ouachita, La., by 8 points in the opener, but lost to Calvary Baptist Academy 30-7 last week. Crossett ended a 13-game losing streak with last week’s 20-point victory at Watson Chapel.
