Booneville 42, Hackett 12: Bearcats’ ground game and defense power homecoming rout.
Booneville 42, Hackett 12
BOONEVILLE — Booneville seized control early and never let go, thumping Hackett 42–12 in a 3A‑1 conference tilt at Bearcat Stadium.
Quarterback Rhett Nietert steered a balanced, clock‑grinding attack, while halfback Conner Droemer ripped off touchdown runs of 18, 59 and 49 yards to put the game out of reach. Fullback Hunter Warren added scoring bursts of 8 and 20 yards behind a surging line, and kicker Oliver Loaeza was perfect on six PATs.
Booneville’s defense set the tone with pressure and takeaways. Linemen Cutler Haller and Braxton Hubblerepeatedly collapsed the pocket—Haller logging multiple sacks—and Parker Smith added an interception as the Bearcats limited the Hornets’ ground game. (Haller/Hubble roster info.)
Hackett found flashes through the air. Quarterback Matthew Garner connected on chunk plays to Hagen Moses and Austin Williams, and later hit Evan Griffin and Williams for scores. Versatile back Ryan Kirk earned tough yards between the tackles, and Damyen Hill handled the kicking duties, though Booneville blocked both conversion attempts.
Booneville (3–2, 2–0) stacked drives behind its veteran backfield and a deep stable of backs that included Brody Chambers, who powered in a short score late in the first half. Hackett (2–3, 0–2) showed resilience after halftime with a late TD strike, but Booneville’s early burst and defensive pressure defined the night.
